In 2018/19 I worked with Spaniel in the Works Theatre Company on War in Mind. This project focused on shell shock sufferers from World War One. As part this project, we carried research at Gloucestershire Archives, looking at original records from Gloucester Asylum. These records had never before been accessed, as their 100 year confidentiality period had only just expired. The project resulted in workshops with schools, families and older people, as well as a production that toured the local area. The aim of the project was to shine a light on the stories of those who suffered with mental health difficulties after the First World War and to reduce stigma regarding mental health problems.
